Calling All Talents!

N44715178076_336
As you may know, I'm part of the staff for Miami Goin' Green, a very cool Earth Day event on April 25, 2009 in Bayfront Park in downtown Miami. Exciting details to come soon. Meanwhile…

We're currently finalizing our workshops/seminars and other details for the event. This is an open call: If you have a green-themed talk or workshop (we're really looking for hands-on stuff) that you would be interested in giving during the event, please contact us.

It could be how to green your baby or how to make your own household cleaners using vinegar and baking soda.

Also, if you have any eco-themed yoga, dance, exercise expertise and would like to conduct a class during the event, do tell!

Comment below or call the event hotline at 305.461.2700.

  1. Hi Rebecca,
Just read your e-newsletter today and I would love to offer a lecture that I give at MDC.
The Greening of Products To Clean Up Your Home –
Green cleaning products are on store shelves everywhere with claims of natural, organic and non-toxic. The new plant-based formulations are, in many ways, better for the environment than traditional products. This lecture defines what is natural and offers solutions to make your own products using essential oils and ingredients found in your kitchen pantry.

    Rebecca,
I work as a wellness consultant, supporting people with nutrition and lifestyle changes to feel better. Sustainability and “green” are major parts of my message. I’d be happy to do a class on food, sustainability and wellness or some similar related to topic.
I look forward to hearing from you!

  3. Hi!
Where do I sign up? I have two things to offer:
I teach a weekly community dance class in a public garden and could have one at the event
also have been involved with a solar power company and can talk about ways to make your home more efficient and less dependent on FP&L

  4. Jonas Blake says:

I do not know if you think this would fit in, but I work for an Engineering Firm that is very involved in green and LEED buildings in Miami. We have several LEED professionals and commissioning agents that could give a talk. Perhaps about simple changes to your home that can save energy?

  5. Camille says:

Hi I think this would fit in: A demonstration of biogsa for the home. IT would be a cooking and technology demonstration. We would produce a clean burnable coking gas from household organic waste and demonstrate the liquid fertilizer product.
Send me an email about coordinating!
    Cam

  6. Thanks to everyone for all of the great ideas. We’ve got a great lineup that I will try to post this weekend!!
