BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF MIAMI TO THINK GREEN IN CAPRI SUN FASHION SHOW
Calling all green fashionistas! The Boys & Girls Club of Miami and Capri Sun have teamed up for one of the most eco-friendly events this year that celebrates fashion and the environment, all for a good cause. Hosted by AnnaSophia Robb, popular teen celebrity and star of the upcoming movie “Race to Witch Mountain,” the Capri Sun Ready to Re-Wear Runway Show features a collection of TerraCycle accessories made from used Capri Sun pouches. Members from the Boys & Girls Club of Miami will model the unique designs and the public is invited to attend. The fun takes place on March 25th at the Boys & Girls Club of Miami gymnasium (2805 SW 32nd Avenue) from 3:30 – 5 p.m.
From tote bags to pencil cases; lunch boxes to aprons, TerraCycle has fashioned these fabulous accessories from Capri Sun pouches formerly sent to landfills. Thanks to support from Capri Sun, TerraCycle is collecting used pouches from schools across the US. Kids are learning about recycling and enrolled schools are earning much-needed extra funds – TerraCycle donates two cents for each pouch it receives.
At the close of the show, a
one-of-a-kind dress designed entirely out of CAPRI SUN pouches will be
unveiled. The unique dress, crafted by designer Justina Blakeney of Compai, a
company renowned for rehabilitating “used and abused” clothing,
will be auctioned online for charity at www.ebaygivingworks.com
with all proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
And the best part, admission is easy! All you need to enter is an empty Capri Sun juice pouch that will be turned into a great fashion accessory. For additional information on Capri Sun and TerraCycle, please visit www.caprisun.com/terracycle.
