  1. MiamiCitizen says:

There weren’t nearly as many bike miami enthusiasts this time as there were last time. Perhaps the gloomy route scared them off. This type of event works well in other cities because of their density and mixed land use streetscape. In South Florida, this even would work best in residential neighborhoods, and not gloomy commercial areas.

  2. I thought that there was also extremely less online publicity for the event as compared to last time. No Facebook events were created, etc…even though there are over 300 members of the Bike Miami FB group.
Also, it was kind of a gloomy looking day. Plus the holidays, etc etc.
I love the fact that it is downtown/Brickell…especially since I’m a Brickell resident. If we want a 24/7 city, we need to offer events for residents of downtown to participate in on the weekends with their families.
I hope that lower participation doesn’t slow down the pace of Bike Miami. Lower publicity and time of year have a lot to do with it, I think. Anyone else have thoughts?

  3. Cool blog.
For the sake of being Green, is anyone lobbying for using leftover water from people’s showers to water plants?
