Save the Cypress from Becoming Mulch!

The Gulf Restoration Network is trying to save the coast’s cypress forests from becoming mulch sold at Walmart, Lowe’s, and Home Depot. You can take action on their website and send an email directly to these companies.

Also take your business elsewhere. There’s a couple companies that sell alternative mulch products.
One that I like is Bernie’s Garden Center in the Redland – at about 144 Street and Krome Ave.
They sell FloriMulch which is made from the dreaded Melaleuca. You can feel good that your mulch didn’t come from cypress forests and that you’ve contributed to finding a good use for all those pesky Everglades destroying superweeds.
