Alesh, great point. I was thinking last night that I should have covered that.
When I was a child they were doing news reports on this, people. And it hasn't changed. Bottled water is no better than tap...in fact, it is worse, because it just creates trash and consumes energy to bottle.
The only reason I currently use water bottles is that I love water, and I need some way to carry it when I am away from home. Thus, this product hunt.
Please don't buy bottled water for consumption in your house or in a restaurant (if tap is available). Why waste the money, anyway?
All of these TV shows drive me nuts lately - people walk into their home and reach into their fridge to pull out a bottle of water for their guest. Is this happening in real life? Literally drinking bottled water in the home, out of the little bottles?
Additionally, you should not even really need bottled water for hurricane preparation. Before the hurricane, fill everything in your house with water - tap water...and you should be off to a good start. Pitchers, bowls, bathtub...all perfect for storing your water. And I'm not even going to get into the fact that people wait in long lines for bottled water when most of them had drinkable water in their home.
The hunt continues!

please please make more of a big deal of THIS: Tom Standage's excellent NYT piece on the total absence of any benefits to drinking bottled water over tap water -- it's not better for you, doesn't taste better, and is rotten for the environment.
The distilled facts are here.
